conveniently looks up words in Merriam-Webster's online
dictionary. It tries to use w3m if you have it, but
falls back to lynx if you don't.

dofreq is a Perl script that lets
you run scheduled tasks at unusual intervals that most
crons can't handle, like every 4 days or every other
week. Some weak documentation is included.

dof and hyperfocal are two Perl programs to
aid photographers in computing depth-of-field values and
hyperfocal distances. You specify photographic format
(minox through 8x10), focal length, aperture, and (for
dof) focus distance. The program spits out relevant data.
Note: if anyone can provide appropriate
circle-of-confusion values for APS film, I will happily
add APS to the list of supported film formats.
