Freely Available Software

Test::HTTP Test::HTTP is a library for writing tests of HTTP services, such as REST services. It comes with a source filter which makes it easy to write tests which look a lot like HTTP packets.
Socialtext Open Socialtext Open is the open source version of Socialtext's wiki software.
Wikiwyg Wikiwyg is an embeddable Javascript library for editing, in either WYSIWIG or wikitext mode, wiki, blog, or any other editable content, in-place on the page.
SMBL SMBL is a cross-platform, highly-portable lightweight distributed message-passing system. It does not rely on OS support for processes or threads, but instead uses non-blocking socket I/O.
Helium Helium is an email navigator that takes advantage of and demonstrates some of the possibilities of the KnownSpace data management framework.
McFeely McFeely is a complex multi-host task queue. Think of it as secure email for programs.
aliaslu aliaslu is a simple C program for looking up email addresses in NIS maps from qmail.
zsh scripts I use zsh every day and provide for the world some of my zsh scripts (they also work fine as autoloaded functions).
mw mw is a simple two-line perl script that conveniently looks up words in Merriam-Webster's online dictionary. It tries to use w3m if you have it, but falls back to lynx if you don't.
dofreq dofreq is a Perl script that lets you run scheduled tasks at unusual intervals that most crons can't handle, like every 4 days or every other week. Some weak documentation is included.
dof/hyperfocal dof and hyperfocal are two Perl programs to aid photographers in computing depth-of-field values and hyperfocal distances. You specify photographic format (minox through 8x10), focal length, aperture, and (for dof) focus distance. The program spits out relevant data. Note: if anyone can provide appropriate circle-of-confusion values for APS film, I will happily add APS to the list of supported film formats.
